Shipping Notes
In general, when a fruit box you order is in season, we ask that you allow 1-2 weeks to receive your box as our harvests vary greatly from week to week and we fulfill orders on a first come first serve basis. The shipping method you choose at checkout accounts for the time your fruit is in transit AFTER it leaves our facility.
Pomelo
Origin: The Pomelo, pummelo, or in scientific terms Citrus maxima or Citrus grandis, is the largest citrus fruit from the family Rutaceae and the principal ancestor of the grapefruit. They originated in Southeast Asia.
Flavor Profile: Pomelos have a sweet, floral, citrus flavor with a hint of bitterness.
How To Eat: Pomelos can be eaten in the same ways as a grapefruit. They have a thick rind and membrane that is edible but tougher to chew.
Pomelo is excellent source of vitamins C and A, dietary fibers and minerals such as potassium, iron and calcium. One quarter of pomelo provides 130% of daily requirements of vitamin C. Pomelo is low-caloric fruit. One quarter of pomelo contains only 60 calories.
You may receive white or pink pomelo depending on what is available/in season.
First come first serve, any orders that can't be shipped this season will be reserved for next season.
The total weight of each box varies depending on the size, shape, and mass of the fruit:
- Small Box contains 2 Pomelos
- Large Box contains 4 Pomelos
We ALWAYS recommend ordering a LARGE BOX for the best value, when compared to a Small Box. Because shipping, handling, and delivery are so expensive per package, the Large Box will contain more fruit and ultimately a better value.
