aloe vera gel 0.25 oz 7 g 1/2 tablespoon of gel
honeydew (peeled) 13.67 oz 388 g 1/4 honeydew melon
lime 0.7 oz 20 g A bit less than 1/2 lime
coconut water 1.75 fl oz 52 ml 3 1/2 tablespoons


1.Wash the produce.
2.Peel and de-seed the honeydew.
3.Weigh the ingredients.
4.Quarter the lime (leaving skin on) and place directly into the press. If you don’t have a juice press, peel the lime and juice with the honeydew.
5.Grind and press the honeydew melon, then add the coconut water and aloe gel to the juice.

Pro Tips

  • You can make your own aloe gel from fresh aloe (most markets sell the leaves), or you can purchase the gel already made, just make sure it is 100% pure aloe and made for consumption (and not topical use, which usually has other ingredients mixed in).

  • If you use fresh aloe leaves, choose a large aloe vera leaf to get the most out of it. Be sure to use a sharp knife to cut both skinny sides, then one of the wider sides, and then scrape the gel out. Don’t get too close to the leaves when scraping! You only want to scrape out clear gel and it will become yellow if you scrape too close to the skin.

  • Add a teaspoon of agave as a sweetener to your aloe vera juice without spiking your blood sugar.

  • If you don’t have any limes on hand, try lemon juice for a slightly different flavor in this homemade aloe vera juice.
