This is the perfect recipe if you want to start drinking green juice. It's fruity and fun, some say it tastes like a healthy version of Mountain Dew soda!

Ingredients

  • 8 oz green apple 1 ¼ medium apple
  • 4 oz kale (green variety) 2 cups chopped kale
  • 4 oz celery 2 ½ medium stalks
  • 3 oz pineapple ½ cup chunks
  • 0.9 oz lemon ¼ medium lemon
  • 0.8 oz ginger 10 slices

Directions

  1. Cut the base off of the celery and cut the pineapple into chunks. If using a Goodnature juice press, leave the skin on the pineapple. Peel the lemon if you prefer a lighter flavor.

  2. Wash the produce thoroughly.

  3. Juice all ingredients together.

We like to use this recipe when we give demonstrations on our juice presses. It uses a nice range of fruit and vegetables, showing the capabilities of the machines, plus it tastes great. Some even think it tastes like a healthy version of Mountain Dew soda!

Preparing produce for juice

A lot of people automatically think they need to remove the skin from pineapple. When you juice on our presses, you don't have to! And that's a good thing, because pineapple skin actually contains a high concentration of valuable nutrients that have great health benefits. Pineapple contains a powerful enzyme called bromelain, and there is a higher concentration of it in the skin than in the actual flesh.

The lemon in this recipe can be used with or without the peel, it's more of a preference thing.  If you're going for a stronger full-flavor experience, leave it on.
